The Jacob Benning TRIO
Jacob Philip Benning (singer, songwriter, and guitarist) set out to enact the vision of showcasing his lively & spirited rock n’ roll music at the tail end of the pandemic in April 2021. The pieces were arranged over several months by Benning and the first person he contacted, Will Cotter (drummer/ vocalist), longtime friend and original drummer of Split Sekond (Benning & Cotter’s first band together 18 years prior.)
Originally from Southern California, Kevin Cole (bassist/vocalist) met Benning through mutual friends in the local Sonoma County music community just one week before the bands first show. As a formally educated multi instrumentalist, Cole exuded an infectious and rhythmic low end that carefully crafts the pocket of every song.
The Jacob Benning Trio debuted in the summer of 2021 with their first performance and have multiple critically-acclaimed singles such as “High As the Redwoods”, “Light of My Soul”, and “Ol’ Ohio Prison” out on all streaming platforms now. The Trio’s next single is scheduled to release in the summer of 2023.

Will Cotter
Drums & Vocals
Laying down beats since 13 years old, Will was born and raised in Sonoma, California, surrounded by a warm musical community who helped craft him into the groove specialist he is today. Will's love for drums started when he first laid eyes on the school music room's drum set in 7th grade. His infatuation with the kit quickly morphed into a passion where his rhythmic journey began.
Kevin Cole
Bass & Vocals
Kevin was inspired to take up music as a child after hearing two older generations of Cole’s playing together at family celebrations. He graduated with a BA in music from Sonoma State in 2006 and performs on trumpet, bass, drums, guitar and vocals.
